The communauté de communes des Sources de la Creuse was located in the Creuse ''département'' of the Limousin region of central France. It was created in January 2002.CC des Sources de la Creuse (N° SIREN : 242320075)

La Courtine
La Courtine (; Auvergnat: ''La Cortina'') is a commune in the Creuse department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in central France. Geography An area of lakes, forestry and farming comprising the village and several hamlets situated in the Creuse river valley, some south of Aubusson, at the junction of the D25, D29 and the D992. The commune is within the natural park of ''Millevaches'', (1000 lakes, not cows). History La Courtine military camp The foundation of the camp in 1904 transformed the town: the inhabitants remained peasants during the day but became bar-keepers at night and soon there were more bars than inhabitants. Saint-Merd-la-Breuille (; oc, Sent Mèrd la Bruelha) is a commune in the Creuse department, in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, France. Geography General information In the extreme south-east of the Creuse department, the municipality of Saint-Merd-la-Breuille extends over 40.19 km2. Bordering the departments of Corrèze and Puy-de-Dôme, its territory is crossed by the Méouzette and very briefly by the Ramade. It is bordered to the south by the Feyt stream for nearly five kilometres. The minimum altitude of 717 metres is located at the extreme south-east, near the place called Les Allys, where the Méouzette leaves the commune and enters on the commune of Laroche-près-Feyt. The maximum altitude of 846 metres is located at the extreme southwest, on the edge of the commune of Eygurande, near the place called Travers. Communauté De Communes
A ''communauté de communes'' (, "community of communes") is a federation of municipalities (communes) in France. It forms a framework within which local tasks are carried out together. It is the least-integrated form of ''intercommunalité'' (intercommunality). As of 1 January 2007, there were 2,400 ''communautés de communes'' in France (2,391 in metropolitan France and 9 in the overseas departments), with 26.48 million people living in them. Since then, many ''communautés de communes'' have been merged or have joined a ''communauté d'agglomération'', a ''communauté urbaine'' or a ''métropole''. While there were 2,408 ''communautés de communes'' in January 2010 and 1,842 in January 2016, there were only 1,009 ''communautés de communes'' left on 1 April 2018.BANATIC
