The Communauté d'agglomération de la Baie de Somme is a ''communauté d'agglomération'' in the Somme (department), Somme ''départements of France, département'' and in the Hauts-de-France ''régions of France, région'' of France. It was formed on 1 January 2017 by the merger of the former Communauté de communes de l’Abbevillois, the Communauté de communes de la Région d'Hallencourt and the Communauté de communes Baie de Somme Sud.Arrêté préfectoral

Abbeville
Abbeville (, vls, Abbekerke, pcd, Advile) is a commune in the Somme department and in Hauts-de-France region in northern France. It is the chef-lieu of one of the arrondissements of Somme. Located on the river Somme, it was the capital of Ponthieu. Its inhabitants are called the ''Abbevillois''. Geography Location Abbeville is located on the river Somme, from its modern mouth in the English Channel. The majority of the town is located on the east bank of the Somme, as well as on an island. Eaucourt-sur-Somme (, literally ''Eaucourt on Somme''; pcd, Yucourt-dsu-Sonme) is a commune in the Somme department in Hauts-de-France in northern France. Geography The commune is situated southeast of Abbeville on the D901 and by the banks of the river Somme. History The etymology of the name "Eaucourt". One of many towns in Picardie where the name ends in ‘court’. This dates back to the Middle Ages, when a manor was enlarged by the building of smaller houses around it in a ‘court’. ‘Eau’ is ‘water’. The town of Eaucourt-sur-Somme appears to have been founded in the 7th or 8th century as part of the possessions of the Abbey of St Riquier. By usurpation, or by concession, Eaucourt passed into the hands of the lords of the Ferté, at that time, the Châtillons family.
