''CommitMental'' is an Indian Telugu-language romantic comedy web series created by The Viral Fever (TVF) for Aha. It is directed by Pavan Sadineni starring Udhbav Raghunanda and Punarnavi Bhupalam in lead roles. This series revolves around a young couple, Anu and Phani, who after being in a long-distance relationship for three years, face the prospect of marriage. It premiered on Aha on 13 November 2020. It is the remake of 2014–2016 Hindi-language web series '' Permanent Roommates''. Plot ''CommitMental'' follows the story of commitment-wary Anu, and Phani, her overeager long-distance boyfriend who returns to India from the United States of America to surprise Anu and to ask her to marry him. ''Permanent Roommates'' is an Indian romantic comedy web series produced by The Viral Fever Media Labs. It was created by Arunabh Kumar, the founder of TVF, who also worked as the executive producer of the series. Written and developed by Biswapati Sarkar along with Sameer Saxena, the series is directed by Saxena and Deepak Kumar Mishra. Starring Sumeet Vyas and Nidhi Singh, this series revolves around a young couple, Tanya and Mikesh, who after being in a long distance relationship for three years, face the prospect of marriage. ''Permanent Roommates'' marked India's first web series to be released. The first season consisting of five episodes, had its premiere on YouTube on 31 October 2014 and ended on 12 December 2014. After the reception of the first season, the makers renewed a second season for the series, which eventually was broadcast on The Viral Fever's premium online video streaming medium, TVF Play, on 14 February 2016 and ended on 24 June 2016. Punarnavi Bhupalam is an Indian actress who works in Telugu language, Telugu films and television. She was nominated for Filmfare Awards South, Filmfare Award as Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress – Telugu, Best Supporting Actress – Telugu for her debut in ''Uyyala Jampala'' (2013). Early life Punarnavi Bhupalam was born in Tenali, Andhra Pradesh to Bhagya Lakshmi and Nagesh Kumar. Her great-grandfather Bhupalam Subbarayudu Setty was a freedom fighter from Jammalamadugu, Cuddapah district, Andhra Pradesh. Her family is settled in Hyderabad. aha is an Indian subscription video on-demand and over-the-top streaming service which offers Telugu and Tamil-language content. It is owned by Arha Media & Broadcasting Private Limited, a joint venture by Geetha Arts and My Home Group. The service was soft launched on 25 January 2020 and launched officially on 25 March 2020, coinciding with Telugu New Year (Ugadi). History Allu Aravind revealed that he was enamoured with the digital environment and developed a habit of binge-watching. Soon he came up with the idea of starting a streaming platform for hosting solely Telugu content.
