Commando (1988 Film)
''Commando'' is a 1988 Hindi-language Indian action film directed by B.Subhash and produced by Mushir-Riaz. It stars Mithun Chakraborty, Mandakini, Hemant Birje, Kim in lead roles. It was a commercial success at the box-office. Plot The film starts with an assassination attempt that fails as a police inspector jumps in front and saves the minister. The police dies, but his wife gets mad. Thus the son grows himself by training himself, same time caring for his mother, who is in treatment for mental sickness. Mithun, now as the story proceeds, saves mandakini during a murder attempt by the gunmen of shakthi kapoor. Gradually both fall in love, but mandakini father is against it. Mandakini father gets in good terms with the villain to get mithun arrested as mithun got trapped by shakthi kapoor with a lorry full of explosives, during which mithun overhears conversation among villains of an assassination attempt. Mushir Alam
Mushir Alam (died 20 February 2019) was an Indian film producer. After a nationally publicized funeral, he was buried in Jajmau. He was known as one of Bollywood's highest-profile and most successful producers of the 70s and 80s. His production shingle was "Mushir-Riaz", a joint venture with fellow producer Mohammed Riaz (died 21 May 2022). Om Shivpuri
Om Shivpuri (14 July 1938 – 15 October 1990) was an Indian theatre actor-director and character actor in Hindi films. A National School of Drama, New Delhi alumnus, Shivpuri became the first chief of the National School of Drama Repertory Company (1964) and one of its actors. He later founded an important theatre group of its era in New Delhi, Dishantar. Early life Born in Patiala, Om Shivpuri started his career by working at Jalandhar Radio Station, where Sudha Shivpuri (who later became his wife) was working at the time. Praveen Kumar Sobti (6 December 1947 – 7 February 2022) was an Indian hammer and discus thrower, film actor, politician, and soldier with Border Security Force. As a 20 year old he joined then newly raised Border Security Force from where he attracted the attention of his officers through his fine athletic skills and went to represent India at various athletic events in "Discus throw". As an athlete he won four medals at the Asian Games, including two gold medals, won a silver medal in the Commonwealth Games and competed in two Olympics. Sayedna Iftekhar Ahmed Sharif (22 February 1924 – 4 March 1995), often mononymously credited as Iftekhar, was an Indian actor who mainly worked in Hindi cinema. He is known for his role as a police officer. Career Iftekhar was born in Jalandhar and was the eldest among four brothers and a sister. After completing his matriculation, Iftekhar did a diploma course in painting from Lucknow College Of Arts. Iftekhar had a passion for singing and was impressed with the famous singer Kundanlal Sehgal. In his 20s, Iftekhar travelled to Calcutta for an audition conducted by the music composer Kamal Dasgupta, who was then serving for HMV. Satish Kaul
Satish Kaul (8 September 1946 – 10 April 2021) was an Indian actor in both Punjabi and Hindi movies. He acted in over 300 Hindi and Punjabi films and worked with Bollywood actors such as Dev Anand, Dilip Kumar and Shahrukh Khan amongst others. His notable film roles included ones in ''Sassi Punnu'', ''Ishq Nimana'', ''Prem Parbat'', ''Suhag Chooda'' and ''Patola''. Kaul won the "lifetime achievement" award for his contribution to Punjabi cinema at PTC Punjabi Film Awards 2011. He was regarded as one of the most successful regional film actors of all time.
