Command Performance (1937 Film)
''Command Performance'' is a 1937 British musical drama film directed by Sinclair Hill and starring Arthur Tracy, Lilli Palmer and Mark Daly. It was based on a play by Stafford Dickens. Like ''The Street Singer'', which was released the same year, it was designed as a vehicle for Tracy who performs a number of songs during the film. It was made at Pinewood Studios.Wood p.94 Plot Growing tired of his life of fame, a singer runs away from a domineering manager and goes to live with a group of gypsies. A massive manhunt is whipped by the press to find him so that he can shoot the final scenes of his latest film. Sinclair Hill
Sinclair Hill (10 June 1896 – 6 March 1945) was a British film director, film producer, producer and screenwriter. He directed nearly fifty films between 1920 and 1939. He was born as George Sinclair-Hill in London in 1894. He was awarded an OBE for his services to film. Hill was employed by Stoll Pictures in the 1920s and Gainsborough Pictures in the 1930s. Manhunt (law Enforcement)
In law enforcement, a manhunt is an extensive and thorough search for a wanted and dangerous fugitive involving the use of police units, technology, and help from the public. A manhunt is conducted when the suspect believed to be responsible for a serious crime is at large and is believed to be within a certain area. Any police units within reach of the area will then participate in the search, each covering parts of the area. The officers will, if possible, form a perimeter around the area, guarding any and all possible escape routes from the containment.
