''Comicstaan'' is an Indian stand-up comedy competition television series created by Only Much Louder for Amazon Prime Video. The show brings together budding Indian comedians to find the next big name in stand-up comedy. The series premiere and three following episodes dropped on 13 July 2018. In its first week, ''Comicstaan'' became the most watched show on Amazon Prime Video in India. The judges for Season 1 were Biswa Kalyan Rath, Tanmay Bhat , Sapan Verma, Kaneez Surka, Kanan Gill, Kenny Sebastian, and Naveen Richard and it was hosted by Abish Mathew and Sumukhi Suresh. The grand finale of Season 1 was released on 17 August 2018 and Nishant Suri, a contestant from Noida, emerged as the winner. On 6 August 2018, ''Comicstaan'' was renewed for a second season. Kaneez Surka is a South African people, South African Improvisational theatre, improv artist, actress, comedian and a YouTuber of an Indian people, Indian descent, who works mainly in India. She started her career with the show ''The Week That Wasn't''. She has performed on various stand up platforms. All India Bakchod (abbreviated as AIB) was a Mumbai-based comedy company which created the eponymous podcast, YouTube channel and production company. The name is a parody of All India Radio. It began in 2012 as a humour/pop-culture podcast co-started by comedians Tanmay Bhat and Gursimran Khamba. Their friends and contemporary comedians, Rohan Joshi and Ashish Shakya were frequent guests and the four co-founded the YouTube channel in 2013 and began making sketches. They subsequently formed a digital agency and produced sketches, live comedy and TV shows. In October 2018, the company halted operation and fired its entire staff, after Bhat and Khamba were implicated in two separate sexual harassment allegations. No formal charges were made but the company dissolved in May 2019.
