Comhdháil Náisiúnta na Gaeilge (CNnaG) was the central steering council for a number of organisations involved in the promotion of the Irish language. Its mission was to "strengthen and consolidate goodwill and support for the Irish language and its usage as a living language so that it may be used freely and widely in all aspects of Irish life". History The organisation was established in 1943. It was set up to act as a coordinating umbrella body for voluntary Irish language organisations. The board of the not-for-profit organisation was made up of representatives of its member organisations. As of 2011, there were 24 member organisations, including Conradh na Gaeilge, Gael Linn, Gael-Taca and Oireachtas na Gaeilge. Dublin 2, also rendered as D2 and D02, is a historic List of Dublin postal districts, postal district on the Southside, Dublin, southside of Dublin, Ireland. Non-governmental Organisation

Irish Language
Irish ( Standard Irish: ), also known as Gaelic, is a Goidelic language of the Insular Celtic branch of the Celtic language family, which is a part of the Indo-European language family. Irish is indigenous to the island of Ireland and was the population's first language until the 19th century, when English gradually became dominant, particularly in the last decades of the century. Irish is still spoken as a first language in a small number of areas of certain counties such as Cork, Donegal, Galway, and Kerry, as well as smaller areas of counties Mayo, Meath, and Waterford. Conradh Na Gaeilge
(; historically known in English as the Gaelic League) is a social and cultural organisation which promotes the Irish language in Ireland and worldwide. The organisation was founded in 1893 with Douglas Hyde as its first president, when it emerged as the successor of several 19th century groups such as the Gaelic Union. Gael Linn
Gael Linn (, "Gael-with-us") is a non-profit and non-governmental organisation focused on the promotion of the Irish language and the arts. The organisation's funding includes government and lottery sources. History Gael Linn was founded in May 1953, following a meeting in Cork, with the goal to foster interest in the Irish language and promote artistic events. Since the early years of its foundation, the organisation has also run language courses. In the mid-1950s, Gael Linn supported the production of short films and news reels which were distributed to cinemas. In 1955, Gael Linn established the Irish-language Damer Theatre on St Stephen's Green which it operated until 1976. In 1959, Gael Linn produced the feature length documentary film ''Mise Éire'', which included an acclaimed score by composer Seán Ó Riada. Gael-Taca is an Irish language promotional organisation in County Cork in the Republic of Ireland. They are based on Sullivan's Quay in Cork City where they run a shop and café. The organisation focuses on promoting the Irish language in the business sector and on trying to expand the number of Irish language immersion schools or Gaelscoileanna in County Cork. Oireachtas na Gaeilge (, “The Irish (language) Gathering”) is an annual arts festival of Irish culture, which has run since the 1890s. Inspired by the Welsh eisteddfodau, the festival has included different events connected with Irish language and culture over the years. Today the festival organisation runs events throughout the year, but the most prominent is ''Oireachtas na Samhna'' (“the November gathering”) held on the last weekend of October or the first of November, when more than 100,000 people attend the seven-day event.
