The Combination Women's Football Leagues were a group of women's football leagues in England from 1998 until 2014. The Combination Leagues sat at level 3 of women's football in England from 1998–99 until 2009–10. The leagues consisted of four regional divisions: * Midland Combination Women's Football League *Northern Combination Women's Football League *South East Combination Women's Football League *South West Combination Women's Football League The Combination Leagues were classified below the two levels of the FA Women's Premier League (founded in 1991). Promotion-winning teams entered league level 2, into either the FA Women's Premier League Northern Division or the Southern Division. The FA Women's National League, formerly WFA National League and FA Women's Premier League (WPL), is a group of six football divisions run by the English Football Association. Founded in 1991 by the Women's Football Association, the League included England's top division from 1991 to 2010. The Women's Super League (WSL), currently known as the Barclays Women's Super League (BWSL) for sponsorship reasons, is the highest league of women's football in England. Established in 2010, it is run by the Football Association and features twelve fully professional teams. The league replaced the FA Women's Premier League National Division as the highest level of women's football in England, with eight teams competing in the inaugural 2011 season. In the WSL's first two seasons, there was no relegation from the division.
