Comalies
''Comalies'' is the third studio album by Italian gothic metal band Lacuna Coil, released on 29 October 2002 through Century Media Records. According to lead singer Cristina Scabbia, " uring the album's recording we had a sort of creative explosion. We were working in a coma, sort of like in a different dimension. First of all we just wanted to use the word 'coma' but there was something missing so we played with the two words coma and lies." ''Comalies'' peaked at #178 on the ''Billboard'' 200 and Peaked at #9 on the Top Heatseekers and Independent Albums charts. The outline of the shape from the cover of the band's previous album ''Unleashed Memories'' (2001) is faintly visible on top of the sunflower. The album has gone on to sell over 300,000 copies in the United States as of January 2012. The song " Swamped" is available as a downloadable track for the music video game series '' Rock Band'', and also appeared in the 2004 video game '' Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodli ...

Comalies XX
''Comalies XX'' is the first remix album by Italian gothic metal band Lacuna Coil. It was released by Century Media Records on 14 October 2022. The album is a rearranged re-recording of the band's 2002 album ''Comalies''. Background In June 2021, Cristina Scabbia, during an interview with ''Revolver (magazine), Revolver'' magazine, talked about the hard situation for writing new music. "Everything we do in a regular life, in a normal life enriches us and gives us input that we can put in our music," she said. "And also we like to write together. So, if Marco creates the basis of the music together with the other musicians in the band, then Andrea Ferro, Andrea and I jump in with the lyrics and vocal lines. But we do that together. We need to enter in songwriting mode. So we didn't really like the fact that we had to write separately just because we have to put a record [together] because it's quarantine. Now we are starting to collect ideas 'cause we feel a little bit happier." On ...

Lacuna Coil
Lacuna Coil is an Italian gothic metal band from Milan. Since their formation in 1994, the group has had two name changes, being previously known as Sleep of Right and Ethereal, and they have recorded nine studio albums, two extended plays, two live albums, two compilation albums, one video album, and sixteen singles and music videos. Inspired by the combination of Gothic aesthetics, gothic imagery and music, the members have been known, musically, for composing mid-tempo songs consisting of prominent guitar lines and contrasting dual female/male vocal harmonies to help create a melodic, detached sound. Much of the band's recent material, however, sees a heavier and more down-tuned style, featuring a more distinct bass line and a higher mixing of the guitars within the songs. They have toured internationally and were nominated in 2006 for a MTV Europe Music Award for Best Italian Act, MTV Europe Music Award. They won the 2012 Metal Female Voices Fest Award for the Best Album, th ...

Heaven's A Lie
''Heaven's a Lie'' is the first single by Lacuna Coil from their album ''Comalies''. Although frequently labeled as an anti-religion song, the song's namesake was not intended to be interpreted literally. In an interview with HighWireDaze.com, leading vocalist Cristina Scabbia explained the meaning of the song; the word "heaven" is a metaphor for a "perfect life". When the phrase "your heaven's a lie" is used, it is referring to people who try to force their opinions on others. Co-vocalist Andrea Ferro refers to this theme at their concerts as a song about freedom of ideas. Amidst the single's newfound popularity in late 2003, the group performed an acoustic version of "Heaven's a Lie" during an edition of ''Headbangers Ball''. The album version was also included on the compilation album, '' MTV2 Headbangers Ball''. The song was used on a commercial for the TV show ''Criminal Minds''. Track listing # Heaven's a Lie - 4:46 # Self Deception - 3:30 Music videos The first version ...

Century Media
A century is a period of 100 years. Centuries are numbered ordinally in English and many other languages. The word ''century'' comes from the Latin ''centum'', meaning ''one hundred''. ''Century'' is sometimes abbreviated as c. A centennial or centenary is a hundredth anniversary, or a celebration of this, typically the remembrance of an event which took place a hundred years earlier. Start and end of centuries Although a century can mean any arbitrary period of 100 years, there are two viewpoints on the nature of standard centuries. One is based on strict construction, while the other is based on popular perception. According to the strict construction, the 1st century AD began with AD 1 and ended with AD 100, the 2nd century spanning the years 101 to 200, with the same pattern continuing onward. In this model, the ''n''-th century starts with the year that ends with "01", and ends with the year that ends with "00"; for example, the 20th century comprises the years 1901 t ...
