Avondale Mall
Avondale Mall, originally known as ''Columbia Mall'', opened in 1964 as an enclosed mall in the state of Georgia, United States. The mall's original name came from its location at the intersection of Columbia & Memorial Drives near Avondale Estates. It was demolished in 2007. Anchors The mall's original anchors were Davison's and Sears. Macy's developed the mall, which consisted of of shop space on two levels and was the second-largest mall in Atlanta at the time. After Sears closed and before renovations began, some indoor and outdoor shopping mall scenes for the Chuck Norris movie " Invasion USA" were filmed here. The "entry" crash of the Chevy pickup into the mall was shot at the mall's main entrance. The scenes inside the mall with the Nissan pickup were inside the mall nearest the Davison's end. Columbia Colonnade (formerly Columbia Mall) was a shopping mall located just outside Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. It was anchored by EFO Furniture, Planet Fitness, Dunham's Sports, MVP Clubhouse, and a VA Clinic. The mall was next to Interstate 80 and PA 42. It also served the Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, as well as several surrounding communities, such as Bloomsburg and Buckhorn, Pennsylvania. History Columbia Colonnade's construction was estimated to cost more then $30 million. The mall opened in 1988 with anchors Sears, J. C. Penney, The Bon-Ton, and Hills Department Stores. Sears and J. Columbia Place (formerly Columbia Mall) is one of South Carolina's largest shopping malls, with nearly of retail space. The mall is located just off Interstate 20 and Interstate 77 on Two Notch Road in Columbia, South Carolina. The mall's current only anchor store is Macy's. Stores Opened in 1977 as Columbia Mall, it was originally anchored by Belk, JCPenney, and Sears. Rich's opened a few months later. Dillard's replaced Belk in 1995 and closed on November 4, 2008. JCPenney left the mall for a new lifestyle center, Village at Sandhill, located 10 miles (16 km) away in 2007. On June 6, 2017, Sears announced that they would be closing as part of a plan to close 72 stores nationwide. The store closed in September 2017. It is home to the only Macy's location in more than a 50-mile radius, which helps solidify the mall's presence and position in the market.
