Christopher Colquhoun (born in Carlisle, England) is an English actor who trained at RADA. He is known for appearing as Simon Kaminski in the BBC drama series ''Casualty'', from 2002 to 2004. William Colquhoun
William Colquhoun (December 23, 1814 – September 2, 1898) was an Ontario businessman and political figure. He represented Stormont in the 1st Parliament of Ontario. He was born in Charlottenburgh, Upper Canada in 1814. He settled at Dickinson's Landing where he was postmaster from 1841 to 1863 and operated a general store. He was the first treasurer for Osnabruck Township and later served as reeve for the township. In 1855, he was elected warden of the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry. He was re-elected in Stormont in 1871, but his election was overturned on appeal and he lost (but was victorious) the subsequent by-election in 1872. Maureen Morfydd Colquhoun ( ; ' Smith, 12 August 1928 – 2 February 2021) was a British economist and Labour politician. She was Britain's first openly lesbian member of Parliament (MP). Education and early political career Smith was born in Eastbourne, where she was raised by her Irish mother, Elizabeth Smith, a single parent, in a politically active home. She was educated at a local convent school, a commercial college in Brighton, then at the London School of Economics and later worked as a literary research assistant. Iain Colquhoun
Sir Iain Colquhoun, 7th Baronet, 29th Laird of Luss, KT, DSO & Bar, FRSE (20 June 1887 – 12 November 1948), was a Scottish landowner and British Army soldier during the First World War. Military career During the First World War, Colquhoun served in the Scots Guards. In 1914, the opposing troops on the Western Front had unofficially observed a Christmas truce. The following year, however, when the 28-year-old Captain Colquhoun agreed to a German officer's request for a short truce on Christmas Day, lasting about an hour, he was brought before a court-martial. He was defended by Raymond Asquith, son of Prime Minister H. H. Asquith (the Prime Minister was Colquhoun's wife's uncle). On 17 January 1916, he was found guilty after a five-hour trial, but received the lightest possible sentence, a reprimand. Edward Alexander Colquhoun
Edward Alexander Colquhoun (September 14, 1844 – November 16, 1904) was mayor of Hamilton, Ontario from 1897 to 1898. He represented Hamilton West in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1898 to 1902 as a Conservative member. The son of James Colquhoun, a barrister, he was born in Ayr, Canada West and was educated in Berlin (later Kitchener). In 1864, Colquhoun began work with the Bank of Montreal in Ottawa, He joined the Bank of Hamilton in 1872; he became bank manager in 1882 and retired in 1887. In 1881, Colquhoun married Evelyn Gourlay. The family lived in Barton lodge on the Hamilton mountain, which had been built by James Matthew Whyte, who was Colquhoun's wife's uncle. He was elected to the Ontario assembly in 1898 but was defeated when he ran for reelection in 1902, running as an independent. Archibald Campbell Colquhoun (8 September 1756 – 8 December 1820) was a Scottish politician and lawyer from Glasgow. Life He was born in Glasgow in 1756, the only son of John Campbell of Clathick, Perthshire, Lord Provost of Glasgow 1788/90, and Agnes Colquhoun, the only child of Laurence Colquhoun of Killermont, Dumbartonshire. On succeeding to the estate of Killermont upon the death of his father in 1804, he assumed the additional surname and arms of Colquhoun. He was admitted an advocate in 1768 and appointed Sheriff of Perth from 1793 to 1807 and rector of Glasgow University from 1807 to 1809. Robert Colquhoun
Robert Colquhoun (20 December 1914 – 20 September 1962) was a Scotland, Scottish Painting, painter, printmaker and theatre Scenic design, set designer. Colquhoun was born in Kilmarnock and was educated at Kilmarnock Academy. He won a scholarship to study at the Glasgow School of Art, where he met Robert MacBryde with whom he established a lifelong homosexual relationship and professional collaboration, the pair becoming known as "the two Roberts". He joined MacBryde on a travelling scholarship to France and Italy from 1937 to 1939, before serving as an ambulance driver in the Royal Army Medical Corps during the World War II, Second World War. Ithell Colquhoun ( 9 October 1906 – 11 April 1988) was a British painter, occultist, poet and author. Stylistically her artwork was affiliated with surrealism. In the late 1930s, Colquhoun was part of the British Surrealist Group before being expelled because she refused to renounce her association with occult groups. Colquhoun was born in Shillong, Eastern Bengal and Assam, British India, but brought up in the United Kingdom. After studying at the Slade School of Art, she lived briefly in Paris before moving back to London. She spent the latter part of her life in Cornwall, where she died in 1988. Ian Colquhoun ( ) is an author, actor, stuntman and Historian originally from Craigshill in Livingston in Scotland. He lost his legs and was almost killed in an unprovoked assault and arson attack whilst living in the Republic of Ireland in 2002 and now wears prosthetic legs.
