Colorado State Treasurer
The Treasurer of the State of Colorado is one of the five elected officials of the U.S. state of Colorado, the other four being the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State and Attorney General. The State Treasurer is responsible for managing the Colorado State Treasury and the Colorado Department of the Treasury, a principal department of the Colorado state government. The Colorado State Treasury currently manages a pool of investments worth about $6,000,000,000. The current Colorado State Treasurer, Dave Young, was elected on November 8, 2018, for a four-year term beginning on January 8, 2019. Dave Young (Colorado Politician)
David L. Young is an American politician and the current Treasurer of Colorado. He served as a Democratic member of the Colorado House of Representatives, representing District 50 from the time of his appointment on July 28, 2011 to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Jim Riesberg until his term ended and he took office as State Treasurer in early 2019. Mark Hillman was elected to the Colorado State Senate in 1998. He served as Majority Leader from 2003 to 2004 and Minority Leader in 2005 before serving as State Treasurer from 2005 to 2006.
