Colorado Attorney General
The Attorney General of the State of Colorado is the chief legal officer for the U.S. state of Colorado and the head of the Colorado Department of Law, a principal department of the Colorado state government. It is an elected position with a four-year term, and follows the same schedule as election of the governor. The incumbent Colorado Attorney General is Democrat Phil Weiser, who was elected in November 2018 to a four-year term that began on January 8, 2019. Seal Of Colorado
The Seal of the State of Colorado is an adaptation of the territorial seal which was adopted by the First Territorial Assembly on November 6, 1861. The only changes made to the territorial seal design being the substitution of the words, "State of Colorado" and the figures "1876" for the corresponding inscriptions on the territorial seal. The first General Assembly of the State of Colorado approved the adoption of the state seal on March 15, 1877. The Colorado Secretary of State alone is authorized to affix the Great Seal of Colorado to any document whatsoever. By statute, the seal of the state is two and one-half inches in diameter with the following devices inscribed thereon: At the top is the Eye of Providence or "All Seeing Eye" within a triangle, from which golden rays radiate on two sides. Colorado (, other variants) is a state in the Mountain West subregion of the Western United States. Cynthia Coffman (politician)
Cynthia Honssinger Coffman (born August 26, 1961) is an American attorney and politician from the state of Colorado. A Republican, she was the elected Attorney General of Colorado in 2014, serving a single term from 2015 to 2019. Coffman unsuccessfully sought the Republican nomination for governor of Colorado in 2018. Early life and career Coffman graduated from the University of Missouri and received her J.D. degree from the Georgia State University College of Law. John William Suthers (born October 18, 1951) is an American attorney and politician serving as the Mayor of Colorado Springs, Colorado. He previously served as the Attorney General of Colorado, U.S. Attorney for Colorado, Executive Director of the Colorado Department of Corrections, and Fourth Judicial District Attorney. Kenneth Lee Salazar (born March 2, 1955) is an American lawyer, politician, and diplomat who is the United States ambassador to Mexico. Gale Ann Norton (born March 11, 1954) is an American politician and attorney who served as the 48th United States Secretary of the Interior under President George W. Bush from 2001 to 2006. A member of the Republican Party, she previously served as the 35th Attorney General of Colorado from 1991 to 1999. Norton was the first woman to hold each of those posts. L. Duane Woodard (born January 12, 1938) is an American politician who served as the Attorney General of Colorado from 1983 to 1991. He previously served in the Colorado Senate from the 29th district from 1977 to 1980. Early life and career L. Duane Woodard was born in Kansas City, Missouri on January 12, 1938. John Carbone Porfilio (born October 14, 1934) is an inactive Senior United States circuit judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and a former United States District Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Colorado.
