Colonnade Restaurant was a historic restaurant in Tampa, Florida established in 1935. It was operated for at least three generations by the Whiteside family. The restaurant was known for its water views (on Bayshore Boulevard) and its seafood. The Colonnade Restaurant was closed in the spring of 2016 when it was sold for $6.2 million to Ascentia Development Group and Batson-Cook Development Co. Evening Independent
The ''Evening Independent'' was St. Petersburg, Florida's first daily newspaper. The sister evening newspaper of the ''St. Petersburg Times'', it was launched as a weekly newspaper in March 1906 under the ownership of Willis B. Powell. In November 1907, it became a daily paper as the ''St. Petersburg Evening Independent''. The newspaper was known for its "Sunshine Offer", which was first enacted in 1910 by Lew Brown as a way to publicize St. Petersburg as "The Sunshine City".
