Colombo Football Club, or Colombo FC, is a professional football club based in Colombo, that competes in the Sri Lanka Champions League, the top flight of Sri Lankan football. They are 3-time winners of the prestigious Dialog Champions League and also have won the 2015 FA Cup championship, defeating Blue Star SC 1–0 in the final on July 4 at the Sugathadasa Stadium. Colombo FC completed their Hat-trick of clinching the Dialog Champions League for the 2017/18 Sri Lanka Premier League, after defeating Renown SC 1–0 on 14 January 2018 at Race Course.The club's motto is "Pride of Colombo City" which was announced by the club founder & owner Saif Yusoof in 2017. In the Dialog Champions League 2018 edition, Colombo FC emerged as the Runner-up after defeating Navy Sea Hawks SC 4–0 on 13 February 2019 at the Sugathadasa Stadium, Colombo. Sugathadasa Stadium
Sugathadasa Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka. It is currently used for football, rugby union, and athletics. The stadium holds 25,000 people and has an on-site hotel. History The concept of an outdoor sporting stadium was initially raised by V. A. Sugathadasa, the Mayor of Colombo (1956–57, 1963–65), the country's first Minister of Sports (1966–70) and Chairman of the National Olympic and Commonwealth Games Committee. Construction of the stadium commenced on 16 January 1957 and was completed on 16 December 1962. The stadium was named after Sugathadasa, as he donated the land it was built on. In 1991, an indoor stadium was constructed on the site by the Mitsui Company for the 1991 South Asian Games. Stadium usage The 1991 and 2006 South Asian Games were held in Sugathadasa Stadium. Kalutara ( si, කළුතර, ta, களுத்துறை) or Kalutota is a major city in Kalutara District, Western Province, Sri Lanka. It is also the administrative capital of Kalutara District.
