Colombia Women's National Rugby Sevens Team
The Colombia women's national rugby sevens team participates at several international tournaments. Colombia qualified for the 2016 Summer Olympics. Their biggest achievement is the bronze medal won at the Lima 2019 Pan American Games. Colombia placed second at the 2019 Sudamérica Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Peru, earning them a place at the final qualification tournament. They were knocked out of the Qualifier semi-finals at the 2020 Final Olympic Qualification Tournament by France. Colombia qualified for their first Sevens World Cup after finishing as runners-up at the 2021 Sudamérica Rugby Women's Sevens. The 2022 Rugby World Cup Sevens will be held in South Africa. The women's rugby sevens tournament at the 2016 Summer Olympics was held in Brazil, hosted at the Deodoro Stadium, a temporary outdoor stadium constructed as part of the Deodoro Modern Pentathlon Park in Rio de Janeiro. Rugby sevens at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru was held from July 26th to 28th. The venue for the competition is the rugby sevens stadium located at the Villa María del Triunfo cluster. The rugby sevens tournaments at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris are scheduled to run from 24 to 30 July at Stade de France. Twenty-four teams (twelve each for men and women) will compete against each other in their respective tournaments.
