Collinwood Mansion
Collinwood Mansion is a fictional house featured in the Gothic horror soap opera ''Dark Shadows'' (1966–1971). Built in 1795 by Joshua Collins, Collinwood has been home to the Collins family and other sometimes unwelcome supernatural visitors since its inception. The house is located near the town of Collinsport, Maine, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Almost every resident of the town is too scared to even drive by the house due to rumours and legends. The house has more than 40 rooms, most of which are closed off due to lack of inhabitants and financial reasons, and more than a few secret passageways, including a room that is a gateway to a parallel timeline, a stairway through time, and one room that appears to be a playroom to some and nothing more than a linen closet to others. Seaview Terrace
Seaview Terrace, also known as the Carey Mansion, is a privately owned mansion located in Newport, Rhode Island. It was designed in the Châteauesque style based on the French chateaux of the 16th century, and completed in 1925. It was the last of the great "Summer Cottages" constructed and is the fifth-largest of Newport's mansions, after The Breakers, Ochre Court, Belcourt Castle, and Rough Point. ''Dark Shadows'' is a one-hour television pilot that was a remake of the 1966–1971 gothic soap opera television series ''Dark Shadows''. The pilot was commissioned by The WB and produced in 2004, but not picked up for a series. Plot Victoria Winters arrives by train to Collinsport, where she has been hired by the Collins family to tutor their youngest member, David. She is welcomed by matriarch Elizabeth Collins Stoddard, but experiences strange and disturbing dreams during her first night in the mansion. The WB Television Network (for Warner Bros., or the "Frog Network", for its former mascot, Michigan J. The Lockwood–Mathews Mansion is a Second Empire style country house in Norwalk, Connecticut. Now a museum, it was built in 1864-68 for railroad and banking magnate LeGrand Lockwood. Tarrytown is a village in the town of Greenburgh in Westchester County, New York. Lyndhurst, also known as the Jay Gould estate, is a Gothic Revival country house that sits in its own park beside the Hudson River in Tarrytown, New York, about a half mile south of the Tappan Zee Bridge on US 9. The house was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1966. and History The home was designed in 1838 by Alexander Jackson Davis, and owned in succession by New York City mayor William Paulding Jr., merchant George Merritt, and railroad tycoon Jay Gould.
