Collingwood Football Club
The Collingwood Football Club, nicknamed the Magpies or colloquially the Pies, is a professional Australian rules football club based in Melbourne that competes in the Australian Football League (AFL), the sport's elite competition. 2005 AFL Draft
The 2005 AFL draft was the 2005 event of the AFL draft, the annual draft of players by Australian rules football teams that participate in the main competition of that sport, the Australian Football League. The 2005 draft consisted of a pre-season draft, a national draft, a trade period and a rookie elevation. In 2005, there were 76 picks to be drafted amongst 16 teams in the national draft. The Carlton Football Club, Carlton Blues received the first pick in the national draft after finishing on the bottom of the ladder during the 2005 AFL season. Mick McGuane
Michael McGuane (born 29 December 1967) is a former Australian rules footballer who represented and in the Australian Football League (AFL) during the 1980s and 1990s. Playing career Early years (1987–1990) McGuane showed great promise for his local club Sebastopol in the Ballarat Football League. He made his senior debut for the club in 1985 while still a teenager and was a member of the side that lost heavily in the Grand Final to North Ballarat. Ignored by , who had the Ballarat region in their recruiting zone, were quick to pounce, and signed McGuane to their Under 19s squad for the 1986. Billy Picken
William Robert Picken (7 June 1956 – 23 July 2022) was an Australian rules footballer who played for the Collingwood Football Club and the Sydney Swans in the Australian Football League, Victorian Football League (VFL). Picken was still at school when he arrived at Collingwood in 1974 from Macarthur as a forward, but he developed into a talented centre-half back. Despite playing in four losing grand finals, Picken maintained his reputation as a finals performer and was recognised for his contributions when he was named in the Collingwood Team of the Century. Darren Millane
Darren Millane (9 August 1965 – 7 October 1991) was an Australian rules footballer who played for the Collingwood Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Charlie Pannam (footballer, Born 1874)
Charles Henry Pannam (2 October 1874 – 29 October 1952) was an Australian rules footballer who played for the Collingwood Football Club in the Victorian Football Association (VFA) between 1894 and 1896 then in the Victorian Football League (VFL) between 1897 and 1906. He then played for the Richmond Football Club in the VFA in 1907 then in the VFL in 1908. He was senior coach of Richmond in 1907 and 1912. Family The son of a Greek immigrant father, Ioannis ("John") Pannam (1832–1899) and an Australian mother, Anne Pannam (1841–1898), née Hughes, Charles Henry Pannam was born at Daylesford on 2 October 1874. His father's family name of Pannamopoulos had been shortened to Pannam when he emigrated from Greece to Australia in 1856. His father, John, had originally arrived in Newcastle, NSW in 1855, however, he was charged as a deserter and sent back to Greece, only to return and settle the following year. Fraser Gehrig (born 3 March 1976) is a retired Australian rules footballer who played for the St Kilda Football Club and the West Coast Eagles in the Australian Football League (AFL) .
