Collin Martin
Collin Martin (born November 9, 1994) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for San Diego Loyal in the USL Championship. He has played for D.C. United and Minnesota United FC in Major League Soccer, and for Richmond Kickers and Hartford Athletic in the United Soccer League. He came out as gay in June 2018, making him at the time the only out man in any of the big five American sports leagues or any top-division professional men's national soccer leagues. Club career Youth and College Born in Chevy Chase, Maryland, Martin joined the D.C. United Academy during the 2009–10 season as a 14-year-old in the under-16 category. Richmond Kickers is an American professional soccer club based in Richmond, Virginia. The Kickers compete as a member of USL League One (USL-1). The club was established in 1993, and began play that same year as a United States Interregional Soccer League (now USL League Two) expansion team, which at the time, was the fourth tier of soccer in the United States. Francis Takyi Atuahene (born 8 June 1996) is a Ghanaian association football, footballer. Career Youth & College Atuahene played three years of college soccer at the University of Michigan between 2015 and 2017. He left college a year early to sign a Generation Adidas contract with Major League Soccer ahead of the MLS SuperDraft. While at college, Atuahene played with USL PDL side Michigan Bucks in 2017. Tacoma Defiance, formerly Seattle Sounders FC 2, is an American professional soccer team based in Tacoma, Washington, U.S. that competes in the MLS Next Pro, the third tier of the national soccer pyramid, as the reserve team of Seattle Sounders FC. The USL Championship (USLC) is a professional men's soccer league in the United States that began its inaugural season in 2011. The USL is sanctioned by the United States Soccer Federation (U.S. Soccer) as a Division II league since 2017, placing it under Major League Soccer (Division I) in the hierarchy. Mohammed Khalid Saeid (born 24 December 1990) is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Superettan club Trelleborg. Born in Sweden, he represents the Eritrea national team. Career Saeid was spotted at age eleven by Fulham while playing in a tournament with his team BK Forward. The English club brought him over to play with their youth team but ended up not signing him. Instead scouts from West Bromwich Albion who had watched him play for Fulham offered him a youth contract. In 2009, he returned to his old Swedish third tier club BK Forward. Saeid played three season there and had a very successful 2011 where he scored eight goals from midfield. The 2018 MLS SuperDraft was the nineteenth SuperDraft conducted by Major League Soccer. As customary, the SuperDraft was held in conjunction with the annual United Soccer Coaches convention. The 2018 UCS was held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania between January 17–21, 2018. Rounds one and two of the SuperDraft were held on January 19, 2018. 2014 USL Pro Season
The 2014 USL Pro season was the fourth USL Pro season and the 28th season of third-division soccer in the United States. Teams Antigua Barracuda FC and VSI Tampa Bay FC folded following the 2013 season and were replaced by Sacramento Republic FC and Oklahoma City Energy FC. On January 29, 2014, the Los Angeles Galaxy of MLS announced that they would be fielding a USL Pro team, the LA Galaxy II. The Los Angeles Blues were rebranded Orange County Blues FC on February 5, 2014. Arizona United SC replaced Phoenix FC on March 13, 2014. The Charleston Battery are an American professional association football, soccer club based in Charleston, South Carolina, and member of the USL Championship. Founded in 1993, the Battery are one of the oldest continuously operating professional soccer clubs in the United States, tied with the Richmond Kickers.
