Jan Noskiewicz
Jan Noskiewicz (8 October 1890 – 27 August 1963) was a Polish entomologist specialising in Hymenoptera and Strepsiptera. Noskiewicz was born in Sanok. He was Professor of Systematic Zoology and Zoogeography at (then) Breslau now Wroclaw University. He died in Wroclaw. His collection of 30,000 Aculeata Aculeata is a subclade of Hymenoptera containing ants, bees, and stinging wasps. The Colletidae are a family of bees, and are often referred to collectively as plasterer bees or polyester bees, due to the method of smoothing the walls of their nest cells with secretions applied with their mouthparts; these secretions dry into a cellophane-like lining.
