The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC; french: Conseil de recherches en sciences naturelles et en génie du Canada, CRSNG) is the major federal agency responsible for funding natural sciences and engineering research in Canada. NSERC directly funds university professors and students as well as Canadian companies to perform research and training. The Central Student Association (also known as the CSA) is the student union for all undergraduate students at the University of Guelph. History The current CSA is the third iteration of a central student union on the Guelph campus. It was founded in 1973. The first cross-College student government was Union Council which lasted from the end of World War Two until 1970 when—because of a major disagreement over the University Centre—the University drove it into bankruptcy and dissolution. In 1966 students agreed to fund a "Student Union Building" with no university operations in it at all. In 1968 they agreed—again by referendum—to fund an expanded building which was to be called the University Community Centre which would house university run services that students needed to directly access such as counselling services, registration and financial aid. The Guelph Gryphons are the athletic teams that represent the University of Guelph in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. NASA's Mars Exploration Rover (MER) mission was a robotic space mission involving two Mars rovers, ''Spirit'' and ''Opportunity'', exploring the planet Mars. It began in 2003 with the launch of the two rovers to explore the Martian surface and geology; both landed on Mars at separate locations in January 2004. Both rovers far outlived their planned missions of 90 Martian solar days: MER-A ''Spirit'' was active until March 22, 2010, while MER-B ''Opportunity'' was active until June 10, 2018.
