College Hill Historic District (Scottsboro, Alabama)
The College Hill Historic District is a Historic districts in the United States, historic district in Scottsboro, Alabama. The neighborhood was the first subdivision to be platted in Scottsboro. The area takes its name from the Scott Male and Female Academy, which was built in 1878. The site has been occupied by schools since; the present building was constructed in the 1930s and currently houses the administration offices of the Scottsboro City Schools, Scottsboro Board of Education. The district contains 14 houses, 10 of which were built between 1890 and 1929, three in the 1930s, and one in the 1970s. The earlier houses are primarily Vernacular architecture, Vernacular styles, although the later construction includes Bungalow and English Cottage-style houses popular at the time. College Hill Residential Historic District
College Hill is a residential neighborhood in Easton, Pennsylvania. The neighborhood is situated on the hill overlooking downtown Easton which was once known as Mount Lafayette, and before that, Mount Washington. Lafayette College borders the neighborhood on its southwest side. The northern boundary of the neighborhood is Forks Township. The boundary lies along Chestnut Ridge, a steep hill that rises to 700 feet. College Hill has a total of three historic religious institutional buildings, three parks, and the remains of Rinek Mansion grounds. The neighborhood has 855 buildings. The northeast sector of College Hill contains professionally designed buildings, primarily built between 1830 and 1940 while the northwest sector contains a high concentration of 20th century pattern catalog houses which was built by the Speer Lumber company. College Hills Historic District
The College Hills Historic District is a residential historic district in Shorewood Hills, Wisconsin that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002. It includes architect-designed homes by Purcell and Elmslie and other architects among its 114 contributing buildings. Among them is the Prof. Philip M. and Marian Raup House. Development of the neighborhood began in 1913 when John C. McKenna bought an extent of farmland with views of Lake Mendota and the UW campus and platted it into lots. He advertised his subdivision as "A Neighborhood of High Class Homes," hoping to appeal to the expanding university population. He named the development "College Hills" and named the streets after colleges. The first homes were built starting in 1914, in then-popular styles Prairie School and Craftsman. The College Hill Historic District is located in the College Hill neighborhood of Providence, Rhode Island, United States. It was designated a National Historic Landmark District on December 30, 1970. The College Hill local historic district, established in 1960 (and expanded in 1990), partially overlaps the national landmark district.
