''Collector'' is a 2011 Indian Malayalam-language political action thriller film directed by Anil C. Menon with Suresh Gopi in the lead. The film has Suresh Gopi playing the title role. The film is a socio-political thriller that takes a look at the contemporary social scene in the state. The film was dubbed in Telugu in the same name. Plot Avinash Varma (Suresh Gopi) is the District Collector of Ernakulam. He takes on several anti-social elements who rule the underworld of Kochi . Of them, Williams (Adithya Menon), who is a real estate businessman, is his biggest opponent. ACP Revathy, social activist Arundhati and a few honest and sincere government officers and the Chief Minister are there to support Avinash Varma. The City Police Commissioner, the Lady Mayor Sethulakshmi (Mohini) of Kochi Corporation, and a couple of corrupt ministers and officials are supporting the illegal activities of Williams. Suresh Gopi
Suresh Gopi (born 26 June 1958) is an Indian actor, politician, playback singer and television presenter. He works predominantly in Malayalam cinema and has also appeared in some Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Bollywood films. Suresh made his acting debut as a child in the 1965 film ''Odayil Ninnu''. Subair (25 May 1962 – 18 August 2010) was an Indian actor in Malayalam cinema industry. He was part of Malayalam films for nearly two decades and acted in around 200 films. Kalashala Babu
Kalasala Babu (1950 14 May 2018) was an Indian actor who performed on stage, and in television serials and films. On stage Babu had been acting in radio plays while at college. Following his graduation in 1973, Babu acted in ''Paanchajanyam'', yielding a good performance. Babu acted at Kalidasa Kala Kendram for two years, and was offered roles by the late O. Madhavan and K.
