Coliseum Da Coruña
Coliseum da Coruña is an indoor arena for concerts and shows used in A Coruña, Galicia, Spain. The venue holds 11,000 people for concerts. It was designed by Japanese architect Arata Isozaki, built in 1990 and open on August 12, 1991. It is also occasionally used for ice skating and bull fighting. It hosted twice the Copa del Rey de Baloncesto: in 1993 and 2016. The arena hosted superstar, Whitney Houston on her international trek I'm Your Baby Tonight World Tour on September 29, 1991. The stop was recorded and aired on TV in several markets of Spain, and select countries in Europe. The 1993 Copa del Rey was the 57th edition of the Spanish basketball Cup. It was organized by the ACB and was played in A Coruña in the Coliseum between March 4 and 7, 1993. This edition was played by the 22 teams of the 1992–93 ACB season. The I'm Your Baby Tonight World Tour was a concert tour by American pop/ R&B singer Whitney Houston, in support of her multi-platinum album ''I'm Your Baby Tonight''. Prior to Houston performing two dates in Japan early-March, the official tour started on April 18, in North America. Houston's performed nearly 100 concert dates throughout 1991 in North America and Europe. Background After a successful series of concerts in Japan during March 1991, Houston returned to the United States to prepare for the world tour to support the four-times platinum selling album of the same name. Houston was initially planned to start the tour in the U.K. However, due to the Gulf War, the European leg was rescheduled until the fall. Houston instead started the tour in the US.
