Colin O'Mahony
Colin O'Mahony is a Gaelic footballer from County Kerry. He has been a key player in much underage success for the county. He was part of the Kerry minor panel that won the 2004 Munster Championship and later lost out to Tyrone in the All Ireland final. He then moved on to the Under 21 side where again he won a Munster Championship and later helped Kerry to a first Under 21 All Ireland title in 10 years when they beat Kildare in the final. After some impressive displays with the Under 21s he got a call up to the county junior team where he won his second Munster Championship of the year, he was back with the junior team once in 2010 when he won another Munster title and helped Kerry to a place in the All Ireland final where they were shocked by Sligo on the day. Ballydonoghue GAA
Ballydonoghue GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in north County Kerry, Ireland. It fields Gaelic football teams at underage and adult levels. All teams represent the parish of Ballydonoghue which contains the village of Lisselton. The club's home ground is Denis Dowling Park, Coolard. The club is affiliated to the North Kerry Football Board and is one of six clubs which form the Shannon Rangers divisional side which competes in the Kerry Senior Football Championship. The club was founded during the 1930s following the amalgamation of several smaller teams. Several Ballydonoghue players have played on the Kerry inter-county football team, including three club members who were on the Kerry team that contested the 1947 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship final at the Polo Grounds in New York. The Kerry County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), or Kerry GAA, is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland. Gaelic football ( ga, Peil Ghaelach; short name '), commonly known as simply Gaelic, GAA or Football is an Irish team sport. It is played between two teams of 15 players on a rectangular grass pitch. The objective of the sport is to score by kicking or punching the ball into the other team's goals (3 points) or between two upright posts above the goals and over a crossbar above the ground (1 point). Players advance the football up the field with a combination of carrying, bouncing, kicking, hand-passing, and soloing (dropping the ball and then toe-kicking the ball upward into the hands). In the game, two types of scores are possible: points and goals. A point is awarded for kicking or hand-passing the ball over the crossbar , signalled by the umpire raising a white flag.
