Colin Marston
Colin Marston (born September 13, 1982) is an American multi-instrumentalist musician and record producer residing in New York City. He graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in music technology in 2004, and runs Menegroth The Thousand Caves Recording Studios in Woodhaven, Queens while not on tour with one of a number of bands. He is also known for his performances in acts such as Behold... The Arctopus, Dysrhythmia, Krallice, and the reunion lineup of Gorguts. Marston has produced, mastered, and mixed music for artists such as Imperial Triumphant, Genghis Tron, Kayo Dot, Jarboe, Capillary Action, Origin, Panopticon, Altar of Plagues, Liturgy, Pyrrhon, and Orthrelm, as well as for his own bands. Krallice
Krallice is an American black metal band formed by New York City musicians Colin Marston, Mick Barr, Nick McMaster and Lev Weinstein. They play an experimental, highly technical style of black metal. The band has released twelve studio albums and three EPs, most recently the LP ''Psychagogue'' on June 17, 2022. They have been described as "one of the most interesting, engaging black metal bands to emerge in recent years" and "one of the most important bands in modern black metal". History Krallice was by formed by Colin Marston and Mick Barr in 2007. Barr said in an interview that "Colin and I had talked about trying to do a black metal record together with no real plans of making it sound good or even releasing it, but as we were writing the music we kind of let it take its own shape. Pyrrhon (band)
Pyrrhon is a technical death metal quartet based in Brooklyn, New York. Formed in 2008, the group comprises vocalist Doug Moore, guitarist Dylan DiLella, bassist Erik Malave, and drummer Steve Schwegler. Doug Moore says the group's main objective is to expand the definition of heavy metal while retaining the same passion of the genre. History Guitarist Dylan DiLella and bassist Mike Sheen met on a subway platform. The two decided on forming a band and invited drummer Alex Cohen, a classmate of Sheen's, and vocalist Doug Moore, whom DiLella had known since high school, to join the band. After some dispute the group settled on recording and performing under the name Phyrrhon, inspired by the Greek philosopher, Pyrrho. The band was officially formed in November 2008. Liturgy is an American black metal band from Brooklyn, New York. The band features Haela Hunt-Hendrix (vocals, guitar), Mario Miron (guitar), Tia Vincent-Clark (bass) and Leo Didkovsky (drums). Panopticon is an American black metal band founded by Austin Lunn in Louisville, Kentucky in 2007. Their most recent album ''...And Again Into the Light'' was released in 2021. Origin is an American technical death metal band from Topeka, Kansas, founded in 1990 under the monikers Necrotomy and Thee Abomination. They have been recognized by music critics and metal fans alike for combining a harsh sound with a high level of technical skill. Jarboe Devereaux, known mononymously as Jarboe (), is an American singer and musician who came to prominence as a member of the New York City experimental rock band Swans in 1985. Jarboe and Michael Gira, the founder of Swans, were the two constant members of the group until it broke up in 1997. Kayo Dot is an American avant-garde metal group. Formed in 2003 by Toby Driver after the break-up of ''maudlin of the Well'', they released their debut album ''Choirs of the Eye'' on John Zorn's Tzadik Records that same year. Since then, Kayo Dot's lineup has drastically changed over the years. Toby Driver is the only founding member of the band still remaining, save for frequent lyrical contributions from former motW member Jason Byron.
