Colin Griffin
Colin Griffin (born 3 August 1982) is an Irish race walker who has competed in the Olympics. Career Griffin is a race walker who competed at the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games in the 50k walk. Griffin spent a good number of years training in Limerick and Saluzzo, Italy. He coaches fellow Leitrim athlete and Olympian Laura Reynolds who now does MMA. Ballinamore (, meaning "mouth of the big ford") is a small town in County Leitrim, Ireland. Etymology , corrupted ''Bellanamore'', means "town at the mouth of the big ford", so named because it was a main crossing (ford) of the Yellow River. The gaels called the baile Átha na Chuirre ("homestead of ford of the afflictions") because a hospital-house stood near the bridge in the 13th century. Santry
Santry () is a suburb on the northside of Dublin, Ireland, bordering Coolock, Glasnevin, Kilmore and Ballymun. It straddles the boundary of Dublin City Council and Fingal County Council jurisdictions. The character of the area has changed in the last 100 years, from a district centred on a large estate, and later a small village, to a modern, rather dispersed, mixed-use suburb. The ''Leitrim Observer'' is the oldest newspaper in County Leitrim. It is a weekly newspaper published every Wednesday and once competed with another newspaper called the ''Leitrim Post'' which was forced to close in 2009 during the economic crash. History The ''Leitrim Observer'' was founded by the Mulvey family in 1889 and was bought by Pat Dunne, for a rumoured sum of £150 some time before 1910. The Black and Tans made the paper their first stop when they came to Carrick-on-Shannon during the War of Independence and badly burned the premises, destroying a lot of the early files of the paper.
