Colin Campsie
Colin Campsie (born 1957) is a British singer and songwriter. He was a member of the 1980s pop bands the Quick and Giant Steps. Biography Campsie originally formed the soft rock/funk group Grand Hotel along with long time collaborator George McFarlane in 1978. After constantly gigging in the South London area, they teamed up with manager Tom Watkins and issued one album, ''Do Not Disturb'' on CBS Records. After Grand Hotel, Campsie and McFarlane turned to new wave music and became The Quick, having their first success in Australia with the top ten hit "Hip, Shake, Jerk". The Quick then had U.S. No. 1 dance chart hits with " Zulu" and "The Rhythm of the Jungle". The album's title was named after Thornalley's own private studio Swamp Studios, located in Northwest London. Philip Thornalley (born 5 January 1960) is an English songwriter-producer who has worked in the music industry since 1978. He is perhaps best known for co-writing (with Scott Cutler and Anne Preven) the song " Torn" (made famous by Natalie Imbruglia's cover version, which he also produced) and the UK number one hits " Mama Do" and " Boys and Girls" for Pixie Lott. He also produced The Cure's 1982 album ''Pornography'' and was later their bass player for eighteen months, producing and performing the distinctive double bass line on their 1983 single " The Love Cats".
