Colin Brown (cricketer)
Colin Edwin Brown (12 October 1878 – 25 June 1936) played first-class cricket for Somerset in 1902 and 1905. He was born at North Curry, Taunton, Somerset and died at Whitby, North Yorkshire. Brown was a lower-order batsman and an occasional bowler. It is not known whether he batted left- or right-handed or what his bowling style was. He appeared in one match for Somerset in 1902 with little success, and returned for seven further games in 1905. Colin Brown (RAF Officer)
Air Vice Marshal Colin Peter Brown & Bar (20 December 1898 – 19 October 1965) was a Scottish officer who began his career in the Royal Naval Air Service during the First World War, before transferring to the Royal Air Force (RAF). A flying ace credited with 14 aerial victories, he remained in the RAF and served throughout the Second World War, retiring in 1954. Early life and career Brown was born in Langside, Glasgow, and was educated at Dulwich College, London.Shores ''et.al.'' (1997), p. 89. He entered the Royal Naval Air Service as a probationary flight officer on 28 January 1917, and was commissioned as a flight sub-lieutenant on 13 June. He was posted to the Seaplane Defence Flight, a unit created to defend the seaplanes which operated out of Dunkirk, flying the Sopwith Camel. Colin Brown (born 16 August 1955) is a former National Hunt jockey in the UK, best known for his association with the famous steeplechaser Desert Orchid. He rode Desert Orchid in more than half his races, a total of 42 starts, winning 17 times. Many of Brown's successes were achieved through his association with Desert Orchid's trainer, David Elsworth. During his 16-year career, he rode more than 400 winners, among them Barnbrook Again in the 1987 Irish Sweeps Hurdle (now known as the Boylesports.com Hurdle), Burrough Hill Lad, Combs Ditch and Floyd, winner of the 1985 Imperial Cup, 1987 Fighting Fifth Hurdle and 1988 Kingwell Hurdle.
