Colegio Cardenal Newman or Cardinal Newman College is Catholic, bilingual, day, primary and secondary school for boys in San Isidro, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina, in Greater Buenos Aires. Values All its students are expected to complete seven IGCSE exams (Cambridge University) in year 10 and receive an International Baccalaureate diploma in their last year at school. The college is located in the area of San Isidro. It was founded by the Irish Christian Brothers who still provide staff. The motto of the college is "Fight the Good Fight" (in Latin: ''Certa Bonum Certamen'') which is taken from St. Paul's first letter to Timothy in which Paul writes "fight the good fight of faith to win for yourself eternal life" (Timothy 6:12)." San Isidro is a city in Greater Buenos Aires. It is located 27.9 km from the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (CABA). It ranks as the province's most affluent neighborhood. History In 2007, San Isidro celebrated its 300 years of existence with different celebrations taking place in the Hippodrome and in other venues. Edmund Ignatius Rice
Edmund Ignatius Rice ( ga, Éamonn Iognáid Rís; 1 June 1762 – 29 August 1844) was a Catholic missionary and educationalist. He was the founder of two religious institutes of religious brothers: the Congregation of Christian Brothers and the Presentation Brothers. Rice was born in Ireland at a time when Catholics faced oppression under Penal Laws enforced by the British authorities, though reforms began in 1778 when he was a teenager. He forged a successful career in business and, after an accident that killed his wife and left his daughter disabled and with learning difficulties, thereafter devoted his life to the education of the poor. Guillermo Carlos Cazenave
Guillermo Carlos Cazenave (born September 18, 1955) is an Argentine musician who has been living in Europe for more than four decades, in London, Sitges (Barcelona) and near Collioure (Southern France). He is also known as Guill Cazenave. He is also an author and journalist, specialized in many different musical styles. Early years Guill started making music from a very young age; when he was 7, his grandmother from the Isle of Skye gave him a bagpipe. In 1963, his older siblings travelled to New York. A while later they returned to Argentina with the first albums by the Beatles, and Guillermo, after seeing the band The Dave Clark Five on television, started playing the drums in 1965, later to study with the drummer and percussionist Sam Lerman.
