Cole McDonald
Cole McDonald (born May 20, 1998) is an American football quarterback for the Houston Roughnecks of the XFL. He most recently played for the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football at Hawaii and was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Early life and high school McDonald was born in La Mirada, California and grew up in La Habra, California. He attended Sonora High School where he played football and ran track. As a senior, McDonald completed 63% of his passes for 2,313 yards and 19 touchdowns while also rushing for 1,091 yards and 10 touchdowns. McDonald was lightly recruited in high school and initially received no scholarship offers from Division I schools. He initially intended on playing at a junior college for a year until he received a last-minute offer from Hawaii coach Nick Rolovich the night before national signing day. Nick Rolovich
Nicholas Robert Rolovich ( ; born February 16, 1979) is an American football coach and former player, who was most recently the head football coach at Washington State University (WSU). Rolovich majored in economics at the University of Hawaii, and received a master's degree at New Mexico Highlands University. He was a quarterback with the Las Vegas Gladiators in the Arena Football League. In October of 2021, after being denied a religious exemption to Washington's requirement for state employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19, Rolovich was terminated by WSU. Rolovich alleges that athletic director Patrick Chun asked him to receive the vaccine on the stadium 50 yard line in front of the entire football team.
