Colby A.F.C. are a Association football, football club from Colby, Isle of Man, Colby on the Isle of Man. They compete in the Isle of Man Football League and wear black and white kits. They play their home games at Station Fields in Colby. History Formed in 1919, the club joined the Isle of Man Football Association in 1920. The club changed kit colours four times before settling on their current black and while striped kit. They are based in Colby a small village in the south west of the island. They have won the Manx FA Cup once in 1927–28 They won the Paul Henry Gold Cup in 1989–90 beating Corinthians F.C. (Isle of Man), Corinthians 1–0 in the final. Colby ( gv, Colby) is a small village in the south of the Isle of Man in the parish of Arbory. It lies on the A7 road between the towns of Castletown and Port Erin and close to the similarly sized village of Ballabeg. History and facilities The name Colby is of Scandinavian origin, and is thought to derive from the Viking words ''col'' (meaning hill) and ''byr'' (meaning farm). The village has a railway station on the Isle of Man Steam Railway and is home to Colby Glen, one of the seventeen National Manx Glens. The village is home to Colby Football Club who play in the Isle of Man Football League and are based at Station Road. Methodism Colby has long been associated with Methodism. Although the league is affiliated with The Football Association, it does not form a part of the English football league system. History The league's representative XI has won the FA Inter-League Cup on two occasions. In 2006 they beat the Cambridgeshire County League XI and qualified for the 2007 UEFA Regions' Cup, being eliminated in the group stage in Czech Republic.
