Cody Sedlock
Cody Austin Sedlock (born June 19, 1995) is an American professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Baltimore Orioles. Amateur career Sedlock attended Alleman High School in Rock Island, Illinois, and the University of Illinois, where he played college baseball for the Illinois Fighting Illini. As a freshman in 2014 he appeared in 12 games with three starts. He was 1–3 with a 3.41 earned run average (ERA) and 30 strikeouts. As a sophomore in 2015, he appeared in 21 games with two starts and went 4–0 with a 4.02 ERA and 29 strikeouts. After the 2015 season, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Bourne Braves of the Cape Cod Baseball League. As a junior in 2016, Sedlock became a full-time starting pitcher. The Waterloo Bucks are a baseball team that plays in the Northwoods League, a collegiate summer baseball league. Their home games are played at the Riverfront Stadium in Waterloo, Iowa. Earned Run Average
In baseball statistics, earned run average (ERA) is the average of earned runs allowed by a pitcher per nine innings pitched (i.e. the traditional length of a game). It is determined by dividing the number of earned runs allowed by the number of innings pitched and multiplying by nine. Thus, a lower ERA is better. Runs resulting from passed balls or defensive errors (including pitchers' defensive errors) are recorded as unearned runs and omitted from ERA calculations. The Florida Complex League Orioles are a Rookie-level affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, competing in the Florida Complex League of Minor League Baseball. Before 2021, the team was known as the Gulf Coast League Orioles. The team plays its home games in Sarasota, Florida, at Ed Smith Stadium, which became the spring training home to the major-league Orioles at the start of the 2010 season. The Frederick Keys are a collegiate summer baseball team of the MLB Draft League. The Keys are based in Frederick, Maryland. The franchise is named for "Star-Spangled Banner" writer Francis Scott Key, a native of Frederick County. A new team mascot "Frank Key", short for Francis Scott Key, joined the current mascot, a coyote named ''Keyote'', at the beginning of the 2011 baseball season. The Aberdeen IronBirds are a Minor League Baseball team based in the city of Aberdeen in Harford County, Maryland. They are the High-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles and compete in the South Atlantic League. They were previously members of the New York–Penn League from 1977 to 2020, and of the High-A East in 2021. The 2016 Major League Baseball (MLB) First-Year Player Draft began on June 9, 2016, to assign amateur baseball players to MLB teams. John Edward Ericks II (born September 16, 1967) is a former Major League Baseball pitcher who was a first-round draft pick in 1988 by the St. Louis Cardinals.
