Cody Goloubef
Cody Goloubef (born November 30, 1989) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who is currently playing for SC Bern of the National League (NL). Goloubef was selected by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the second round, 37th overall, of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. Goloubef was selected to represent Canada at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. Playing career Amateur Goloubef first played minor midget hockey from 2003 to 2005 with the Toronto Marlboros in the Greater Toronto Minor Midget Hockey League. Despite his selection in the 2005 OHL Priority Selection, by the Sarnia Sting, Goloubef opted to pursue an American collegiate career en route to his path to the NHL. Playing two seasons in the Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League with the Milton Icehawks and Oakville Blades in order to retain his collegiate eligibility, he committed to the University of Wisconsin-Madison of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. Columbus Blue Jackets
The Columbus Blue Jackets (often simply referred to as the Jackets) are a professional ice hockey team based in Columbus, Ohio. They compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Metropolitan Division in the Eastern Conference, and began play as an expansion team in 2000. The Blue Jackets struggled in their initial years, failing to win 30 games in a season until 2005–06. The team qualified for the Stanley Cup playoffs for the first time in 2009, but were swept by the Detroit Red Wings. The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) is a Junior A ice hockey league in Ontario, Canada. It is under the supervision of the Ontario Hockey Association (OHA) and the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL). The league was listed as the 7th best developmental league in North America for professional and amateur ice hockey in July 2013 by the website, "TheHockeyWriters.com". The league dates back to 1954 where it began as the "Central Junior B Hockey League". In 1993, the Central Junior B Hockey League was promoted to the Junior A level and renamed the "Ontario Provincial Junior A Hockey League". The Charlotte Checkers are a minor-league professional ice hockey team based in Charlotte, North Carolina. An all-time high of thirty teams played 80 games each during the regular season schedule, which started on October 8, 2010 and ended on April 10, 2011. This season featured the addition of one new team, the relocation of two others, and the renaming of another. The Springfield Falcons were a former ice hockey team in the American Hockey League (AHL) and played in Springfield, Massachusetts, at the MassMutual Center. The American Hockey League (AHL) is a professional ice hockey league based in the United States and Canada that serves as the primary Minor league#Ice hockey, developmental league for the National Hockey League (NHL). The Wisconsin Badgers men's ice hockey team is the college ice hockey team that represents the University of Wisconsin–Madison in Madison, Wisconsin. Western Collegiate Hockey Association
The Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) is a college athletic conference which operates in the Midwestern United States. It participates in the NCAA's Division I as a women's ice hockey-only conference. From 1951 to 1999, it operated as a men-only league, adding women's competition in the 1999–2000 season. It operated men's and women's leagues through the 2020–21 season; during this period, the men's WCHA expanded to include teams far removed from its traditional Midwestern base, with members in Alabama, Alaska, and Colorado at different times.
