Barney Beasley
Barney Beasley (June 20, 1895 – June 1, 1951) was an American character actor of the 1930s and 1940s. Biography Born on June 20, 1895, in the small town of Blaine Bottom, Oklahoma, Beasley made his debut in films in 1930's ''Under Montana Skies'', in a small un-credited role of a townsman. Almost all of his roles were small and un-credited, many of them nameless, with three of his most numerous being that of a townsman, barfly or henchman. Occasionally, he would be given a slightly larger role, as of that of Pete in 1935's ''Gun Play''. His final performance was as a barfly in the 1944 film, ''The Last Horseman''. Beasley died on June 1, 1951, in Los Angeles, California, and was buried in the Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, California. Clifford William Lyons (1 July 1901 - 6 January 1974) was an American film actor, stuntman and second unit director, primarily of Westerns and particularly the films of John Ford and John Wayne. His Hollywood contemporaries were unanimous in describing him as “a driven taskmaster”. Biography Lyons, the son of Garrett Thomas Lyons and Wilhamena Johnson Lyons, was raised on a South Dakota farm, though his family lived for a time in Memphis, Tennessee, where he attended business school. An expert horseman, Lyons gave up the notion of a business career and opted for the rodeo arena instead, touring nationwide and eventually reaching Los Angeles at the age of 21. Accomplished cowboys were in great demand for western films, and Lyons found a home in that genre, working both as a stuntman and an actor. Milton Brown (actor)
Milton Brown (September 8, 1903 – April 18, 1936) was an American band leader and vocalist who co-founded the genre of Western swing. His band was the first to fuse hillbilly hokum, jazz, and pop together into a unique, distinctly American hybrid, thus giving him the nickname, "Father of Western Swing". The birthplace of Brown's upbeat "hot-jazz hillbilly" string band sound was developed at the Crystal Springs Dance Hall in Fort Worth, Texas, from 1931 to 1936. Along with Bob Wills, with whom he performed at the beginning of his career, Brown developed the sound and style of Western swing in the early 1930s. For a while, he and his band, the Musical Brownies, were more popular than Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys. Brown's career was cut short in 1936 when he died following a car accident.
