Cobblestone Mountain (California)
Cobblestone Mountain is a peak in the Topatopa Mountains, in Ventura County, several miles north of Piru, California. At , it is the second highest peak of the Topatopa Mountains after Alamo mountain, and followed by Hines Peak. Snow frequently falls on the mountain during winter. When viewing the Topatopa Mountains from the east, Cobblestone Mountain is the most visibly prominent mountain of the entire range. It can be seen from the Santa Clarita Valley, the San Fernando Valley from higher areas, on the westbound descent of the Santa Susana Pass on State Route 118, and in Gorman heading southbound on Interstate 5 The peak is in the Sespe Wilderness, which is part of the Los Padres National Forest. Sespe Wilderness
The Sespe Wilderness is a wilderness area in the eastern Topatopa Mountains and southern Sierra Pelona Mountains, within the Los Padres National Forest (LPNF), in Ventura County, Southern California. The wilderness area is primarily located within the Ojai and Mt. Pinos ranger districts of the LPNF. The wilderness was created by the U.S. Congress as part of the Los Padres Condor Range and River Protection Act of 1992 (Public Law 102-301). The same legislation also established the Chumash, Garcia, Machesna Mountain, Matilija, and Silver Peak Wilderness areas. The Sespe Condor Sanctuary is within the Sespe Wilderness. Gorman, California
Gorman is an unincorporated community in northwestern Los Angeles County. It is located in Peace Valley south of the Tejon Pass, which links Southern California with the San Joaquin Valley and Northern California. The Santa Susana Pass, originally Simi Pass, is a low mountain pass in the Simi Hills of Southern California, connecting the San Fernando Valley and Los Angeles neighborhood of Chatsworth, to the city of Simi Valley and eponymous valley.
