Kuha-class Minesweeper (1974)
The Kuha-class minesweepers ( en, Zander) is a series of six inshore minesweepers of the Finnish Navy. The ships were constructed in 1974–1975. Minelayer
A minelayer is any warship, submarine or military aircraft deploying explosive mines. Since World War I the term "minelayer" refers specifically to a naval ship used for deploying naval mines. "Mine planting" was the term for installing controlled mines at predetermined positions in connection with coastal fortifications or harbor approaches that would be detonated by shore control when a ship was fixed as being within the mine's effective range. Before World War I, mine ships were termed mine planters generally. For example, in an address to the United States Navy ships of Mine Squadron One at Portland, England, Admiral Sims used the term “mine layer” while the introduction speaks of the men assembled from the “mine planters”. Hamina-class Missile Boat
The ''Hamina''-class missile boat is a class of fast attack craft of the Finnish Navy. They are classified as "missile fast attack craft" or ''ohjusvene'', literally "missile boat" in Finnish. The ''Hamina'' FACs are based at Upinniemi, and form the 7th Surface Warfare Squadron, part of the Finnish Coastal Fleet, together with the minelayers MLC ''Hämeenmaa'', ''Porkkala'' and ''Pyhäranta''. Pansio-class Minelayer
The ''Pansio''-class minelayers are a three-strong class of mine warfare vessels used by the Finnish Navy, built between 1991 and 1992. The vessels can also be used for transport or to supply the naval forts. The vessels can carry a 100-ton load. The ships are referred to as "mine ferries" in the Finnish Navy. Mid-life upgrade The three vessels went through a mid-life upgrade between 2015 and 2017, and are now expected to serve until the 2030s. The upgrades included new main and auxiliary engines, as well as a new high-pressure fire extinguishing system. Hämeenmaa-class Minelayer
The ''Hämeenmaa''-class minelayers ( fi, Hämeenmaa-luokan miinalaiva) is a two vessel strong class of coastal minelayers, used by the Finnish Navy. The ships have a steel hull and aluminum alloy superstructure. The class has an ice operating classification of ICE-1A and can operate year-round in ice up to 40 cm thick. The design included some first attempts on stealth technology in the Finnish Navy. Rauma-class Missile Boat
The ''Rauma''-class missile boats ( fi, Rauma-luokan ohjusvene) are a class of missile boat in use by the Finnish Navy. It is the predecessor of the s. The ships were constructed at the Rauma shipyard (initially by Hollming and after the merger Finnyards) in Rauma, Finland. All the ships have their home port in Pansio. All four vessels underwent a 70 million EUR modernization program at the Western Shipyard in Teijo. The program includes the installation of a new version of the 9LV225 control and command system made by SAAB (the Mk.3 has been replaced by a Mk.4), the replacement of the Mistral SAM missiles with a MASS decoy system.
