''Coast to Coast'' is a 1980 American romantic comedy film starring Dyan Cannon and Robert Blake, directed by Joseph Sargent. The screenplay was written by Stanley Weiser. The original score was composed by Charles Bernstein. The film was shot in Stockton, California. It was Blake's first film in six years and first since his popular TV series, ''Baretta'' left the airwaves. Plot Madie Levrington is a wealthy woman who is also neurotic. She was committed to a New York mental institution by her husband, Benjamin, in order to keep her from divorcing him and taking his money. She manages to escape and, in the process, hitches a ride on a livestock truck. The truck is driven by Charles Callahan. Before realizing she is on his truck, he hears over his CB radio about her escape and a substantial reward for her return. Joseph Sargent
Joseph Sargent (born Giuseppe Danielle Sorgente; July 22, 1925 – December 22, 2014) was an American film director. Though he directed many television movies, his best known feature-length works were arguably the action movie '' White Lightning'' starring Burt Reynolds, the biopic '' MacArthur'' starring Gregory Peck, and the horror anthology ''Nightmares''. His most popular feature film was the subway thriller '' The Taking of Pelham One Two Three''. Sargent won four Emmy Awards over his career. He is the father of voice actress Lia Sargent. Life and career Sargent was born Giuseppe Danielle Sorgente in Jersey City, New Jersey, the son of Italians Maria (née Noviello) and Domenico Sorgente. Sargent served in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge.

Karen Montgomery
Karen Rose Montgomery (November 28, 1949 – December 4, 2015) was an American actress and producer. Born in Chicago, Montgomery and her family later moved to California, where she graduated from UC Berkeley. She appeared on multiple television series including ''Kojak'', ''Nero Wolfe'', ''Aloha Paradise'' and ''L.A. Law''.
