Coach Of The Year (ice Hockey)
The Swedish Ice Hockey Coach of the Year (Swedish: ''Årets Coach'') has been awarded to the best ice hockey coach in Sweden each season since the 1991–92 season. The award was created in honor of Arne Strömberg, and Kamratföreningen Hockeyjournalisterna is the jury which votes on the award. The award has usually gone to a coach in the top-tier league ( SHL/Elitserien), although the award is not specific to the top-tier league. Ice Hockey
Ice hockey (or simply hockey) is a team sport played on ice skates, usually on an ice skating rink with lines and markings specific to the sport. It belongs to a family of sports called hockey. In ice hockey, two opposing teams use ice hockey sticks to control, advance and shoot a closed, vulcanized, rubber disc called a " puck" into the other team's goal. Each goal is worth one point. The team which scores the most goals is declared the winner. In a formal game, each team has six skaters on the ice at a time, barring any penalties, one of whom is the goaltender. Ice hockey is a full contact sport. Roger Melin
Roger Melin (born April 25, 1956) is a Swedish ice hockey coach and former player who most recently served as head coach of Leksands IF of the SHL. He has also previously coached SHL clubs Brynäs IF, Färjestad BK, Frölunda HC, AIK and Linköping HC, as well as Hammarby IF and Rögle BK in the Swedish second-tier league. His playing career included five seasons in the Elitserien, with AIK, Örebro IK, and Hammarby, as well as several seasons in the second and third tiers with Väsby IK. Kent Johansson
Kent "Lill-Kenta" Johansson (born 13 April 1956) is a retired Swedish ice hockey player, former head coach of Frölunda HC in Elitserien. Playing career Johansson started his playing career with Huddinge IK in the Swedish tier two league in 1973. From 1975, the club became a top team in the division, mostly every year participating in playoffs to advance to Elitserien, so Johansson wanted to stay and advance with the team, turning down offers from other clubs for many years. In 1982, he finally gave in, and at 26, choosing between newly promoted neighbor team Hammarby IF and more regular Djurgårdens IF in Elitserien, he chose the latter. He won the Swedish Championships with the club 1983 and then went to play with HC Lugano for six seasons, winning the Swiss Nationalliga A three times; 1986, 1987 and 1988. Harald Lückner
Sven Harald Lückner (born March 27, 1957) is a Swedish retired professional ice hockey player and head coach. During his career he played for Färjestads BK between 1974 and 1988. During that period he won three Swedish Championships. The Sweden men's national ice hockey team ( sv, Sveriges herrlandslag i ishockey) is governed by the Swedish Ice Hockey Association. It is one of the most successful national ice hockey teams in the world and a member of the so-called " Big Six", the unofficial group of the six strongest men's ice hockey nations, along with Canada, the Czech Republic, Finland, Russia and the United States. The team's nickname ''Tre Kronor'', meaning "Three Crowns", refers to the emblem on the team jersey, which is found in the lesser national coat of arms of the Kingdom of Sweden. Bengt-Åke Gustafsson (born 23 March 1958) is a Swedish ice hockey coach and former ice hockey player. Gustafsson is a former head coach of the Sweden men's national ice hockey team, a post he held from February 2005 to May 2010. During his North American career, including two games in the World Hockey Association then nine seasons in the National Hockey League with the Washington Capitals, he was often called ''Bengt Gustafsson'' or ''Gus''. The Capitals also selected Gustafsson's son, Anton Gustafsson, with the first of their two first-round picks in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. Pär Mårts (born 30 April 1953) is a Swedish former professional ice hockey player and coach of the Swedish National team. Playing career Mårts started his playing career in 1971 for playing VIK Västerås HK in Swedish third-tier division. The following season the club was promoted to Sweden's second-tier division HockeyAllsvenskan. In his fourth season 1974-75 he joined Stockholm based club AIK helping them win promotion for Elitserien. During the 1975–76 and 1979-80 seasons, he played 174 games in Elitserien, totalling 121 points (63 goals, 58 assists) and 63 penalty minutes. Conny Evensson
Jan Olle Conny Evensson (born 17 April 1945) is a retired Swedish professional ice hockey player and coach. He is currently an advisor in leadership subjects for Frölunda HC. Evensson is one of the most successful ice hockey coaches in Sweden. He led, together with his assistant coach Curt Lundmark, Team Sweden to two consecutive World Championships titles in 1991 and 1992. Evensson was born in Torsby and his family moved from Torsby to Hagfors when Conny was just two years old. Timrå IK is a professional Swedish ice hockey team based in Timrå, north of Sundsvall. It competes in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), which is the top-tier league in Sweden, since being promoted by winning 2021 SHL qualifiers.
