Clyde Amel Blair (September 16, 1881 in Fort Scott, Kansas – September 3, 1953 in Santa Barbara, California) was an American Track and field, track and field athlete who competed in the 1904 Summer Olympics. In 1904 he was third in Athletics at the 1904 Summer Olympics – Men's 60 metres, 60 m competition and was third in his first round heat of Athletics at the 1904 Summer Olympics – Men's 100 metres, 100 m competition and did not advance to the final. He also participated in the final of Athletics at the 1904 Summer Olympics – Men's 400 metres, 400 m competition, but his exact placement is unknown. Fort Scott is a city in and the county seat of Bourbon County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 7,552. It is named for Gen. Winfield Scott. The city is located south of Kansas City on the Marmaton River. It is the home of the Fort Scott National Historic Site and the Fort Scott National Cemetery. History Established and garrisoned by the U.S. Army from 1842–1853, soldiers at military Fort Scott assisted with the protection of the Permanent Indian Frontier. The 1904 Summer Olympics (officially the Games of the III Olympiad and also known as St. Louis 1904) were an international multi-sport event held in St. Louis, Missouri, United States, from 29 August to 3 September 1904, as part of an extended sports program lasting from 1 July to 23 November 1904, located at what is now known as Francis Field on the campus of Washington University in St. Louis. This was the first time that the Olympic Games were held outside Europe. Tensions caused by the Russo–Japanese War and difficulties in traveling to St. Louis resulted in very few top-class athletes from outside the United States and Canada taking part in the 1904 Games.
