Clute is a Dispersed Rural Community and unincorporated place in the town of Cochrane, in Cochrane District, Ontario, Canada. It is also the name of a geographic township in Cochrane District, (township) at the northeastern corner of which the community lies. An irregularly-shaped eastern part of the geographic township lies in the town of Cochrane following an amalgamation after 1996; the rest, the majority of the township, lies in the Unorganized North Part of Cochrane District. The community is on Ontario Highway 579. It comprises all parts of the district north of Timmins and Iroquois Falls which are not part of an incorporated municipality. Ministry Of Transportation Of Ontario
The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) is the provincial ministry of the Government of Ontario that is responsible for transport infrastructure and related law in Ontario. The ministry traces its roots back over a century to the 1890s, when the province began training Provincial Road Building Instructors. Polar Bear Express
The ''Polar Bear Express'' is a Canadian passenger train operated by the Ontario Northland Railway in Northern Ontario. Service was introduced in 1964. While designated as a passenger train, the Polar Bear Express also carries freight and is equipped with specialized equipment including boxcars for canoes, snowmobiles and all terrain vehicles, chaincars (flat cars with tie downs) for carrying cars and light trucks (there are no roads to Moosonee so vehicles come in and out by train) and baggage and express cars. In the past a special car for canoes was included but these are now carried in boxcars. It operates five days per week year-round and connects Cochrane with Moosonee. During the summer months there is an additional train on Sundays and the train often includes a full-length dome car. Prior to 2012, the train carried a full dining car during the summer. Ontario Northland Railway
The Ontario Northland Railway is a Canadian railway operated by the Ontario Northland Transportation Commission, a provincial Crown agency of the government of Ontario. Originally built to develop the Lake Timiskaming and Lake Nipissing areas, the railway soon became a major factor in the economic growth of the province. After decades of difficult construction through the Canadian Shield, workers reached James Bay in 1932. Abitibi River
The Abitibi River is a river in northeastern Ontario, Canada, which flows northwest from Lake Abitibi to join the Moose River which empties into James Bay. This river is long, and descends . Area code 705 was created in a 1957 split from portions of the 613 and 519 numbering plan areas.
