The Boucs de Megève (official name: Club des Sports de Megève) are an ice hockey team in Megève, France. History The club was founded by Jean Motte in 1923, but wasn't officially registered until July 17, 1931. Starting in the 1950s, the team regularly participated in the top-level French league. Their biggest achievement was winning French league title in the 1983-84 season. For the 1986-87 season, the club merged with Sporting Hockey Club Saint Gervais to form Mont-Blanc HC Mont Blanc (french: Mont Blanc ; it, Monte Bianco , both meaning "white mountain") is the highest mountain in the Alps and Western Europe, rising above sea level. Megève (; frp, Megéva) is a commune in the Haute-Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in Southeastern France with a population of more than 3,000 residents. Ligue Magnus
The Ligue Magnus, currently known as Synerglace Ligue Magnus for sponsorship reasons, is the top men's division of the French ice hockey pyramid, established in 1906. The league operated under a variety of names before taking that of its championship trophy, the Magnus Cup, in 2004. The trophy was in turn named for Frenchman and IIHF founder Louis Magnus. Format 12 teams play a 44-game regular season. The schedule is fully balanced and there are no geographic conferences. Regulation wins are worth 3 points, as per international rules. The top 8 teams qualify for the Magnus Cup playoffs, with all series contested in a best-of-seven format. The remaining 4 teams play a 6-game round-robin, at the end of which the last-place team is relegated. The Magnus Cup champions qualify for the following season's Champions Hockey League. The 1983–84 Nationale A season was the 63rd season of the Nationale A, the top level of ice hockey in France. 12 teams participated in the league, and Club des Sports de Megève won their first league title. Image Club d'Epinal was voluntarily relegated to the Nationale B due to financial issues. The Sporting Club Saint Gervais (also known as the Saint-Gervais Eagles) is a French ice hockey team based in Saint-Gervais-les-Bains in Haute-Savoie. Mont Blanc (french: Mont Blanc ; it, Monte Bianco , both meaning "white mountain") is the highest mountain in the Alps and Western Europe, rising above sea level.
