Club de Regatas Vasco da Gama Basquete, or C.R. Vasco da Gama Basquete, is a Brazilian men's professional basketball club that is based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is a part of the multi-sports club C.R. Vasco da Gama. Vasco da Gama Basquete was founded on May 11, 1920. History Vasco da Gama won the CBB Championship title in the years 2000 and 2001, and the FIBA South American League championship in the years 1999 and 2000. They also won the South American Club Championship in the years 1998 and 1999. The club also played at the 1999 McDonald's Championship, losing the final to San Antonio Spurs. The club is the first Brazilian club to play against an NBA team. In 2016, the club won the Liga Ouro, the competition that gives its champion a place in the next edition of the Brazilian premier professional basketball league, the NBB. Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB) (English language, English: New Basketball Brazil) is the Brazilian premier professional men's basketball league. It is organized by the Liga Nacional de Basquete (LNB) (National Basketball League), in a new format of Brazil's previous top-tier level basketball competition, the Campeonato Brasileiro de Basquete (Brazilian Basketball Championship). The NBB is managed by the Brazilian basketball associations, which were founding members of the LNB. Format The NBB is the annual basketball league that is promoted by the national Brazilian league (LNB) organizing body, and is endorsed by the Brazilian Basketball Confederation (CFB). The first phase of the season consists of fifteen teams playing against each other, on a home and away basis. The McDonald's Championship (sometimes called the McDonald's Open) was an international men's professional basketball club cup competition that featured a representative of the National Basketball Association (representing North America) against champion club teams from Europe, the National Basketball League (representing Oceania), and South America. The first competition was held in 1987 and continued annually after that until 1991, when the tournament switched to a biennial event. For the first two years, the men's national teams from Yugoslavia and the Soviet Union participated. Aylton is a village in eastern Herefordshire, England. It is west of Ledbury. The population of this parish at the 2011 Census was 144. Aylton has a church and shares parish boundaries with Pixley, Putley and Little Marcle. History There has been a settlement here since at least Saxon times. The name Aylton is derived from name of the Anglo Saxon female leader of the settlement, Aethelgifu, and is therefore a rare survivor of its gender from that time.
