Club Trouville
Club Trouville is a multi-sport club based in Montevideo, Uruguay. The club is mainly known for its professional basketball section, which plays in the Liga Uruguaya de Básquetbol, the first level of Uruguayan basketball. Other sports practiced are rugby union and association football. History The club has uncertain origins: its foundation date of April 1, 1922 was established during a meeting among club associates in 1954 after internal research. It owns its name to ''Plaza Trouville'', a square in the Pocitos neighbourhood of Montevideo. The club was affiliated to the Uruguayan Basketball Federation in 1928, and was first promoted to the top level in 1931; in 1945 the team won the ''Federal'' championship. After the creation of the Liga Uruguaya de Básquetbol in 2003, the team has played in the league in all of its seasons, winning the league title in 2006, beating Aguada in the final series. The Liga Uruguaya de Básquetbol (abbreviated as LUB; English: ''Uruguayan Basketball League'') is the most important professional club basketball league in Uruguay. It is organized by the Uruguayan Basketball Federation (FUBB). The Uruguayan Basketball League competition began in 2003. Before that time, the Uruguayan basketball championships were only local metropolitan, and no competitions brought together all the clubs in the country. Until the Liga Uruguaya de Básquetbol was created, the capital clubs participated in the Campeonato Uruguayo Federal de Básquetbol (Uruguayan Federal Basketball Championship), while the clubs of the rest of the country competed in regional tournaments. Esteban Damián Batista Hernández (born September 2, 1983) is a Uruguayan professional basketball player for Club Nacional de Football of the Liga Uruguaya de Basketball. He was the first ever Uruguayan to play in the NBA. Professional career Batista began his pro career in the Uruguayan League in 2001. He then moved to the second division of Spain, the Spanish LEB League in 2003. NBA Batista was signed as a free agent by the Atlanta Hawks on September 12, 2005. Pedro Pablo Morales Jr. (born December 5, 1964) is an American former competitive swimmer. He set world records in the 100-meter butterfly in 1984 and 1986. He was the 100-meter butterfly gold medalist at the 1992 Olympic Games, as well as winning 4 × 100 meter medley relay gold medals at both the 1984 and 1992 Olympic Games.
