Club Nacional De Football (basketball)
Club Nacional de Football, commonly known as simply Nacional, is the basketball section of the Club Nacional de Football club, based in Montevideo, Uruguay. The men's first team plays professionally in the Liga Uruguaya de Básquetbol. Home games of the team are played in the Polideportivo Gran Parque Central, where there is capacity for 400 people. Nacional participates in the tournaments organised by the Uruguayan basketball federation Federación Uruguaya de Basketball (known as FUBB) since 1932. The club won the championships of 1935 and 1937. Nowadays, Nacional takes part in the Liga Uruguaya de Basketball, Uruguayan basketball first division. Liga Uruguaya De Básquetbol
The Liga Uruguaya de Básquetbol (abbreviated as LUB; English: ''Uruguayan Basketball League'') is the most important professional club basketball league in Uruguay. It is organized by the Uruguayan Basketball Federation (FUBB). The Uruguayan Basketball League competition began in 2003. Before that time, the Uruguayan basketball championships were only local metropolitan, and no competitions brought together all the clubs in the country. Until the Liga Uruguaya de Básquetbol was created, the capital clubs participated in the Campeonato Uruguayo Federal de Básquetbol (Uruguayan Federal Basketball Championship), while the clubs of the rest of the country competed in regional tournaments. The Uruguayan Federal Basketball Championship was founded in 1915, making it among the oldest on the continent. La Blanqueada is a '' barrio'' (neighbourhood or district) of Montevideo, Uruguay. Club Nacional de Football (, ''National Football Club'' or simply as Nacional) is a Uruguayan professional sports club based in Montevideo. The club was founded on 14 May 1899 as a result of the merger between ''Uruguay Athletic Club'' and ''Montevideo Fútbol Club''. Although its main focus is football, the club hosts many other activities, including basketball, futsal, tennis, cycling, volleyball, and chess.
