Club Honor Y Patria
Club Honor y Patria was an Argentine football club sited in Bernal, Greater Buenos Aires. The institution was the first club from that city to have played in Primera División, the first level of Argentine football league system, although it lasted only one season in the division. Other clubs from Bernal (such as Club Bernal and Estudiantes) played at intermediate divisions. History The club was established on May 1, 1911, with a football team formed by Italian immigrants that had arrived to Bernal from La Boca and nicknamed ''los Isleños''. Bernal, Buenos Aires
Bernal is a city located in the northeast of Quilmes in the province of Buenos Aires, approximately 10 miles south of the city of Buenos Aires. It is the second largest and most populated city in the Partido of Quilmes. 1929 In Argentine Football
1929 saw the 35 teams that formed the Primera División divided into two groups. The top 2 of each group qualified for the final stages of the tournament, which was eventually won by Gimnasia y Esgrima (LP). The season was marred by mass abandonment of games, defending Argentine champion Huracán withdrew from 8 of its fixtures leaving them to finish in 14th place in the group. Several other teams withdrew from multiple games. Abandonments of games, discontinuations, and withdrawals were quite common in these early seasons (cf., for instance, the second half of the 1930 season ). Floresta, Buenos Aires
Floresta is a neighbourhood located to the west of Buenos Aires. The district developed and was named after Buenos Aires Western Railway's first terminal station's area called ''La Floresta'', in 1857. Avellaneda Park, the neighborhood's most important, was built in 1914 on grounds that once belonged to a monastery. An early Italian immigrant to Argentina, Felix Barabino, built his home in Floresta and boasted the neighborhood's most imposing residence at the time. Roberto Cherro
Roberto Eugenio Cerro, named "Cherro" (23 February 1907 – 11 October 1965) was an Argentine football striker. He was born in Barracas in the city of Buenos Aires in Argentina. He played the majority of his career with Boca Juniors, he scored 221 goals in 305 games for the club (in all official competitions), making him Boca Juniors' highest scoring player until his record was surpassed by Martín Palermo in 2010. He also ranks 5th. among the all-time Primera División top scorers, with 236 goals in 345 league matches.
