Club 3 de Noviembre is a Paraguayan football club based in Asunción. It was founded on May 15, 1959, and currently competes in the Primera B Metropolitana league of the Tercera División, the third-tier of Paraguayan football. They play their home matches at Estadio Dr. Ruben Ramirez. History Founded on May 15, 1959, initially with the name of Club 15 de Mayo, it was later, in an assembly on May 15, 1961, decided to change the name its current one in honor of the date of birth of the then president of the country. At its early years, the club was affiliated to the with the ''Liga Deportiva de Fernando de la Mora'' where they won a title in 1969. In 1971, they joined the Asociación Paraguaya de Fútbol (APF), then known as Liga Paraguaya de Fútbol, to participate in what was called the Segunda de Ascenso, the third and last division of Paraguayan football at that time. Primera División B Metropolitana
The Primera División B (''First Division B'': in English), also known as Primera División B Metropolitana or simply Primera B Metropolitana in order to distinguish it from the Primera División B Nacional, is the metropolitan tournament of the Paraguayan Tercera División. Only teams from the Gran Asunción metropolitan area and Central Department take part in this third division league. Asunción
Asunción (, , , Guarani: Paraguay) is the capital and the largest city of Paraguay. Alfredo Stroessner
Alfredo Stroessner Matiauda (; 3 November 1912 – 16 August 2006) was a Paraguayan army officer and politician who served as President of Paraguay from 15 August 1954 to 3 February 1989. Stroessner led a coup d'état on 4 May 1954 with the support of the army and the Colorado Party, with which he was affiliated. After a brief provisional government headed by Tomás Romero Pereira, he was the Colorado Party's presidential candidate for the 1954 general election, and was elected unopposed since all other parties were banned. Hipódromo (Asunción)
Hipódromo is a barrio (neighbourhood) of Asunción, the capital of Paraguay. It's a relatively new neighbourhood with a population of 8,348 people, and provides one of the biggest green areas in Asunción. The name comes from the Spanish meaning of the word Hippodrome, which stands for "horse racetrack". This is because the largest horse racetrack in Paraguay, the Hipódromo de Asunción, lies within this barrio. The name of the streets generally carry the name of characteristic trees from the Paraguayan countryside (such as Yvyrapytá, Quebracho and Paraíso) or the name of native tribes of South America (Carios, Guaraníes and Incas).
