Cloudy Times
''Cloudy Times'' ( es, El tiempo nublado) is a 2014 documentary film directed by Arami Ullon. The film illustrates Ullón's relationship with her ageing mother, who suffers from epilepsy and Parkinson's disease, and the conflicts she faces when she needs to take care of her while living away. It was selected as the Paraguayan entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 88th Academy Awards and Goya Awards. The documentary is a co-production between Switzerland, where the director resides, and Paraguay. Synopsis Since Arami can remember, her mother suffers from epilepsy and Parkinson's. Visions du Réel (Visions of Reality) is an internationally renowned documentary film festival held in April each year in Nyon, Switzerland. Established in 1969 as the Nyon International Documentary Film Festival, the event adopted its current name in 1995 and is the largest Swiss documentary festival. Epilepsy is a group of non-communicable neurological disorders characterized by recurrent epileptic seizures. Epileptic seizures can vary from brief and nearly undetectable periods to long periods of vigorous shaking due to abnormal electrical activity in the brain. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) has invited the film industries of various countries to submit their best film for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film every year since the award was created in 1956. Epileptic Seizure
An epileptic seizure, informally known as a seizure, is a period of symptoms due to abnormally excessive or synchronous neuronal activity in the brain. Outward effects vary from uncontrolled shaking movements involving much of the body with loss of consciousness ( tonic-clonic seizure), to shaking movements involving only part of the body with variable levels of consciousness ( focal seizure), to a subtle momentary loss of awareness (absence seizure).
