Clifford Small is a Canadian politician who is the Member of Parliament for Coast of Bays—Central—Notre Dame, having defeated Liberal incumbent Scott Simms by a close margin of 264 votes in the 2021 general election. He is a member of the Conservative Party of Canada. He is the first Conservative MP from Newfoundland and Labrador since Peter Penashue resigned in 2013. In Newfoundland alone, he is the first Conservative MP elected since 2006. He was appointed Shadow Minister for Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency by Erin O'Toole on November 9, 2021. Coast of Bays—Central—Notre Dame is a federal electoral district in Newfoundland and Labrador. It was created from the portions of the island of Newfoundland previously included in the electoral districts of Bonavista—Gander—Grand Falls—Windsor (72%), Humber—St. Barbe—Baie Verte (18%) and Random—Burin—St. George's (10%). Coast of Bays—Central—Notre Dame was created by the 2012 federal electoral boundaries redistribution and was legally defined in the 2013 representation order. Pierre Marcel Poilievre ( ; born June 3, 1979) is a Canadian politician who has served as the leader of the Conservative Party of Canada and the leader of the Official Opposition since 2022. Erin Michael O'Toole (born January 22, 1973) is a Canadian politician who has been the member of Parliament (MP) for Durham since 2012. A member of the Conservative Party, O'Toole served as the party's leader and the leader of the Official Opposition from 2020 to 2022. Born in Montreal, O'Toole grew up in Port Perry and Bowmanville. Early life Scott Simms was born on August 12, 1969, in Bishop's Falls, Newfoundland.
