Clifford G. Bond
Clifford George Bond (born February 23, 1948) is a retired American Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2001–2004 and as Special Envoy for Srebrenica in 2007–2008. He was also Chargé d'Affaires, a.i. in Estonia. Bond earned an undergraduate degree from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service and a M.Sc. degree in economics from the London School of Economics. He also attended the National War College. The National War College (NWC) of the United States is a school in the National Defense University. It is housed in Roosevelt Hall on Fort Lesley J. McNair, Washington, D.C., the third-oldest Army post still active. Michele Thoren Bond
Michele Thoren Bond (born 1953) is a retired U.S. diplomat and former Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs at the U.S. Department of State. Early life and education Ambassador Bond grew up in Washington, D.C. She earned a bachelor's degree from Wellesley College, and master's degrees from Georgetown University and the National War College. Career Ambassador Bond joined the U.S. Foreign Service in 1977. This is a list of ambassadors of the United States to Estonia. The United States has maintained continuous official diplomatic relations with Estonia (as well as Latvia and Lithuania) since 1922, when one ambassador, resident in Riga, Latvia, was appointed to all three nations. Relations with the three nations were broken after the Soviet invasion of the republics in 1940 at the beginning of World War II. The United States never recognized the legitimacy of the Soviet occupation of the three Baltic nations, nor the legitimacy of the governments of those states under Soviet occupation. Hence, diplomatic relations were not resumed until 1991 after the collapse of the Soviet Union. The U.S. Embassy in Estonia is located in Tallinn.
